i awoke this morning
went out and looked
at the path
(from my heart to yours)
strewn with the absence of tracks
a light blanket of benign neglect
lay upon it
and it saddened me
more than i can say
(or type)
so i and my shovel
have arrived to say
hello
how is your heart today?
(you feel closer now
just a little)
smiling
